About GRRRP

Historical Genesis

Consolidating India’s Road Research Since the 1950s

The annual publication titled “General Report on Road Research Work Done in India” (GRRR) was established under the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) to create an authoritative national compendium of research investigations, laboratory test tracks, and field trials across India.

Compiled continuously in technical collaboration with the CSIR - Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), this report disseminates practical civil engineering findings, assists in revising IRC design codes and specifications, and prevents redundant research investments across states.

The GRRRP Digital Portal centralizes this entire pipeline into a secure online system for proforma submissions, verified institutional vetting, peer appraisal, and nationwide digital archival.

Apex Governance Highlights
  • Formulates IRC Standards & Codes of Practice
  • Evaluated by Highway Research Board (HRB)
